Coming from years of experience…

I am not trying to scare you, but really inform & prepare you for what can happen with oral medication like Antibiotics.

They told me,

“Don’t worry, I’ll give you a short course of antibiotics and it’ll fix you right up little girls”

“Don’t worry, if these antibiotics don’t work I’ll prescribe you a stronger one. Just make sure you take these for 6 months”

“You’ll be fine. Take these pills three times a day and your acne will be gone”

I immediately took the doctor’s advice on THREE occasions and continued my years believing things would be okay. It worked the first time, but my happiness was soon shattered a year later. My acne came back in full force with red, painful cysts covering my entire face, worse than I could ever imagine. Call me Stupid but I tired antibiotics again but this time placing hope on a different brand, thinking it would work…

My utter desperation blinded me from seeing any possible consequences. 😩

Antibiotics has now left me with almost irreversible damage to my intestines and gut. It not only kills the ‘bad’ bacteria but also kills the ‘good bacteria in the gut, leaving your body literally defenceless against harmful pathogens like the fast-growing Candida Albicans.

Researchers found that participants who took more than three antibiotics within a five-year period we 1.5 times more likely to develop irritable bowel disease (what I currently suffer with) 😭

The antibiotics also caused me to have antibiotic resistant bacteria in my system where the bacteria that causes my acne is able to survive and even multiply in the presence of an antibiotic. So, imagine what my body was going through during my second course of antibiotics.

I was extremely mortified and cried so much after learning how much I f**ked up my body. As a person would, I trusted a doctor who I thought knew everything about health. What they FAILED to inform me was that if I take antibiotics I NEED to take Probiotics BEFORE, DURING and AFTER the course, that way good bacteria is reintroduced and the gut flora is balances. BUT in saying this, antibiotics shouldn’t be taken in the first place to be honest, UNLESS you really need it. Doctors are quick to prescribe it because it’s a quick fix.

There are many natural ways to heal acne. Sometimes I feel so angry at the doctors but most of all, so frustrated for putting myself in a situation where I failed to just have faith, I failed to believe in myself. Sometimes I wish my younger self was more informed and mentally stronger, so I could avoid all this struggle and suffering. BUT at the same time, I know that by sharing my experience, it may precent others from making the wrong decision. Life taught me a lesson, and now I feel the duty to inform others. I have always aspired to be someone who can truly help others, even if it’s just one person.

Never in my life did I think I would be sharing something that has been so soul destroying and self destructive with people from all over the world. But one day, I decided it’s time to stop wasting my life away. I stripped myself naked from the fear, the self-hatred, the negative thoughts and endless doubts... and the result of it all? It’s god damn liberating 💪🏼

I just hope that this is insightful and really helps you to make the right decision that is GOOD and rich for the SOUL, MIND & BODY.

OVERALL

If you can avoid antibiotics, then please do. They do more harm than good. If you're already on antibiotics, best to finish the course but also find ways to fuel your body with good bacteria e.g probiotic tablets, drinks like kombucha, bone broth for the gut etc.
