In this gifted skincare kit I received 5 items including face wash, toner, water-based lotion, face mask and spot treatment. I had the privilege of trying this brand as many people have said amazing things and really wanted to put it to the test myself. Here’s are my thoughts after 3 weeks’ use:

1.CLEANSER: Zero oil, Deep Pore Cleanser with Saw Palmetto & Mint.
This maximum-strength, gently foaming cleanser claims to helps clear pores, eliminate excess oil and reduce shine. After trying it for a week everyday I felt like it was a tad drying and didn’t like how it stripped my skin from its natural oils which made me slather on a lot more moisturizer than needed. It did however make my face feel very minty and refreshed. I realised using this cleanser every second day or third day at night works better for me, especially after a long day of wearing makeup. After 2 more weeks of this face wash at appropriate times, I do recommend it on the condition that you test how often your skin requires it. It foams up really nicely and is super affordable too! $23 per bottle (150ml)

2. TONER: Zero Oil, Pore Purifying Toner with Saw Palmetto & Mint

This toner is super minty! It’s has a medical smell to it (due to the Saw Palmetto) so you might need some time getting used to but makes you feel really refreshed. I actually love love this toner as it does a great job at double cleansing after your face wash. It gets rid of the excess oil, dirt and grim. After toning your face, you will see dirt on the cotton pad lol (remember to tone the edges of your face as that section is often neglected) Afterwards, the toner leaves your face smooth and matte. I use this toner especially for my neck, chest and upper back after a shower and the Salicylic acid in this toner also prevents me from getting body acne. Highly recommend !! $23 AUD for 150ml.

3. SOOTHING LOTION: Dr Andrew Weil For Origins, Mega Mushroom Relief and Resilience Soothing treatment
This product is a light soothing watery lotion with Reishi, Sea Buckthorn and Fermented Chaga- perfect ingredients that soothe and hydrate the skin by 71%!!! This step is used right after cleansing and actually does wonders for my acne-prone skin. Because of its cooling nutrients my inflammation has calmed down by a lot and my overall redness is pretty much gone after one night’s use. It’s alcohol-free and pH balanced. Pretty affordable too about $20-$34 AUD depending on the size you get. (100ml+). I highly recommend this if you experience dyhydrated, red or inflamed skin.

4. FACE MASK: Clear Improvement, Active Charcoal Mask.

Holy moly. This hands down is easily one of my favourite masks. The bamboo Charcoal likes like a magnet to draw out the gunk in your clogged pores. The white China clay absorbs the environmental toxins and the lecithin dissolves the impurities. Best thing about this clay mask is that its super hydrating, doesn’t dry or strip the skin from its natural oils, on the condition that you remove it after 10 minutes. My number one tip: never let your mask dry completely or its most likely depriving your skin of its natural oils. Never put a mask on for any more than 15 mins. Deal? You’ll thank me later. Get your hands on these if you struggle with clogged pores/black heads and actives. I used this twice per week and my skin is supple as a baby’s bottom. $26 AUD for 75ml.

5. SPOT TREATMENT: The Super Spot Salicylic acid Remover

I tried using this over 4 days on one of my big cysts but unfortunately it didn’t do much. I realised applying it once per day isn’t effective enough so I applied it on another cystic pimple 3 times a day which dried the sucker up within two days. I like how it goes on clear and definitely helps with controlling the oils but there are better spot treatments out there. Note: I did have a few followers mention how this product was a miracle for them so its worth a try. $18 AUD for 10ml.

Side tip: Never apply too much spot treatment on your skin because too many treated spots will cause irritation and over dryness. It is better to hydrate your skin than to dry it.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Overall, I highly recommend the Origins Skincare Brand. It definitely improved my skin esp my clogged pores and blackheads. I would say my MUST-HAVE out of the kit is probably the charcoal mask and the mushroom tonic. They provide fast effective results and is so calming on my sensitive acne prone skin. So affordable too !! Ahh in love !

Origins ships internationally! You can find them on this website https://www.origins.com/ or in many other beauty stores.

Hope this helps !!!
